The Books in Every Home Campaign

Do you remember, as a child, picking your favorite book in your school library to bring home to your family? Do you remember those special moments, reading during bedtime, or alone in your special hiding place? Unfortunately, many Philadelphia schools do not have a lending library, and many families have few books in their home. At Tree House Books, we understand that much of a child's learning occurs beyond traditional school settings, which is why we have spent the past 15 years building relationships and providing support to inspire reading in the home.  Our goal with this campaign is to ensure that every child, every home, has books to support each child's journey towards a love of reading and a happy, successful life.

We did it together - Thank you!

By 2018, our annual goal increased to a lofty 75,000 books to Philadelphia homes. Amazingly, through your support and care, we were able to surpass that goal, and began to average 80,000 books in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, even with our library closed for most of the year due to COVID19 we continued to get books out to our community in creative ways and still managed to distribute 50,000 books! By 2021, as we launched the Traveling Tree House and began re-opening our Giving Library, we were able to get back to pre-pandemic levels with over 80,000 books given away!
